Hi, just another update of of my life 😀.  This month has been rather stretching for the church here, and I just want to thank all of you who have been praying for us- its greatly appreciated.

Nov 1 Amber and I started the month with a little vacation. We went to Esteli: a town like 3hrs away. It was sooo beautiful there! It was also rather cool..I wore a jacket practically all morning. On the way there we stopped at a really cute cafe called La Casita (the little house).  They had lots of beautiful plants and cute puzzles for sale and lovely trails, and also a small zip line...really awesome !!!!

 

after La Casita, we drove another half hour to Esteli, stopped at the market and saw this really cute rabbit for sale, and our friend's rabbit had just died, so we got it for them.  Then went out grown shopping, which was fun , although we didn't find much. Then we went out to eat at this really cool restaurant, where we split a plate.

Then we headed on home.

Nov 2 Went out to Malpaisillo for church then came home and sat through a thanksgiving service at my friend's house. 

Nov 3 Amber and I went with one of our good friends Marianela to her grandma's house out in the country .  When she isn't in school, she lives out there. It's absolutely beautiful there and everything is sooo green.

 We sat around and talked awhile, then cooked lunch together. After we left, we dropped her of at school, then came home and cleaned, etc.
Nov 4 A young girl around the age of eleven hung her self because she couldn't have a boyfriend. I didn't know her, but please pray for the family and for other young girls down here, that they could find the acceptance and love they want in God.
Nov 6 Lost Pepper

Nov 7 Went to Nathan and Angie's house in the morning. Hung wash, made lemonade, and a few other odd jobs. Then we went out to malpaisillo for the evening, and played volleyball.. it had been a while since i played that :).  We hung out, then went and got supper in town.
Nov8 Busy day, had ladies prayer in the morning, then cleaned and got ready for girls class.  While Amber was at the cyber printing out the papers for girls class, a neighbour girl came over and said she saw Pepper, so I quickly locked up the house, and went to get Amber.  We saw some children playing with her out on the street
, but then when they saw us, they quickly took her inside. We went over to the house, and Pepper started going crazy, so it was obvious that she knew us. We payed them a little, then left.  We Had girls class, and that took a little longer then we were expecting,so we quickly rushed around and got ready to go to Pizza Hot.   Two of our friends were having birthdays.  Then we came back to our place had cake and chilled.
Nov 9 Sunday- this was a hard day, because one of the families announced that they are leaving.😢 (please, please pray for the church and them).  then in the evening Angie asked if Amber and I would like to go visiting with her in the poorer section of town. Some of those houses are just sooooo sad.  We handed out a lot of antorchas, then came home.
Nov 10 Got a bus and went to the beach. That was pretty cool, because we met Marianela on it. the beach was just perfect, because we could walk out pretty far and the waves were nice and calm compared to some times.  Got lunch at a cute little comedor on the way home.  After that, we got back, and we went to visit a friend.
Nov 14 We babysat an adorable baby girl so her mom could go to work. The poor thing is living off of cornstarch water.

Nov 16 I taught sunday school for the first time, and realized that I need to work on my pronunciation alot more. 😀 then in the afternoon, we went out to Malpaisillo. The guys played baseball , then we all gathered together around the camp fire and had like a small devotions, then men and ladies split up and in order to get supper, everyone had to say a verse, so we shared our verses and what they meant to us. Then we had a time of prayer. After a bit,the men came back, then we chowed down, sang songs around the fire, and enjoyed each others company😄

Nov 18 helped Andrea babysit. She had Nathan and Angie's children plus the baby that I posted the picture of.  I gave Peter a bath,

put the baby to sleep, got them all lunch, did the dishes , then Nathans came and got their children, then I went home and had a relaxing evening.

Nov20.  We babysat Itsel(the baby girl), checked out the new grocery store, then  came home and Karina and Bryan came to clean church.  

Nov 21. baby sat Andreas children then she brought Amber and I these really cute flowers.

For the evening, Richards invited us down to their place. We talked for a while then played dice and told funny stories till pretty late.

Nov 22. We had girls class. and made flowers outof toilet paper rolls, but we didn't have enough, so we ripped the tubes out of all the new rolls, so we had tp laying all over the place. 

Nov 23 We went visiting, but they weren't home so we came back, and Bryan, Karina, Tatiana, and Marianela came over played games and hung out

Nov 24 thanks giving at our house.  cleaned all morning. decorared the table then Jason brought the chicken pulled that of the bone every else came eat a lot had stuffing, chicken, salad with bacon dressing😄😄😄pumpkin pie, home made ice cream was really good then every one cleaned up sat around and talked for a while then played ticket to ride with Jen, Amber,and Andrea talked more.  fune night😃

Nov 25 went down picked up Richard and Andreas children took them to market that was fun every one was looking at us funny.  Then we went to the grocry store now i no how a mom feels i think😀.  

Nov 26 Luz and Tanya come over for breakfast and stayed like all morning. Then we went to the ophanage at one but left almost right a way because they were having a celebration for Marry.  On the way home we stopped at  the cyber to look up some ideas for the girls class christmas party.  

Nov 27 Had staff prayer and breakfast at Richards.  Took Exile home with us.  We did a bunch of erands. went to tell Yoland about the christmas cookie bake but she wasnt home then we went to tell carina she dosent have to come clean church but what do you no she wasnt home she wasn't home either from there we went and vivsited Maria a lill bit then on the way home we stopped at Yessenias house to ask if she could make a pinata for the girls class christmass party finally got home then in the evening we went out to malpasio for revival meetings it was realy good Timo Miller was the speaker.  

Nov 29 took Richard and Andreas family pic in the morning. went and watered plants at Nathans while they were gone came bake cut out paterns to make t-shirt purses had girls class then some of them stayed to help clean church they about flooded the bath room and soaked the church floor but it looked better than it did in the begining.  They finally left we rushed around got ready for church. Another really good sermon.  We were  incouraged to not fight the battle with my own strenght because the battle is the Lords. Verry refreshing week.

So that finshed out that month.  Went by fast looks like the next few months are going to go faster yikes!!! Thank you to those of you who have sent cards and have been praying it means a lot to now you have people behind you. Here are a few specific things you can pray for. 

(1) Can pray for me iam going  to be starting up my last two weeks of spanish school while Amber is gone over christmas. (2) The church down here can always use prayers it has had its share of struggles latly.  (3)My friend Carina isnt getting along with her mom and her dad died.  She is searching for love pray that she would find that love in God.   (4)Anabelin is 18 with a 3yr old daughter who has some physical elments but they they dont have the money to give her the help she needs.  There are a lot more but should keep you busy. Visiters, Earthquakes, and More

This month was really busy! If my two years go by this fast, I don't no what I'll do!😀 Hope you enjoy the up date!!!
Oct 4 Amber and I went to central park and rode on the bald bus, (a bus with the top cut off that takes a tour of the city), and ate raspados, (shaved ice with dulce de leche).
Oct 6 Cleaned all day, and then a group came from Georgia (miss you all😄). Went to Bible school with two of the girls, so that was really awesome to see them again.
Oct 7 Had orientation with the group right after breakfast, then we girls painted and cleaned the house of an elderly neighbour man, while the guys worked on putting in a side walk. Then in the afternoon we went out to Malpaisillo to be with the rest of the group, hung out and played games. 😄
Oct8 We finished painting the house, then came back and stamped antorchas,(a magazine tract), then we went to the children's home, and took stamps and paper along for them to make cards. Before long they were stamping themselves, then stamping each other, until it turned into a stamp war.  Some the children were just taking ink pads and rubbing them all over people.

After the children's home we had a hose fight, changed, and then went out to eat for supper.

Oct 9 Met the people from Malpaisillo at the bottom of Cerro Negro, and hiked that all morning.

Came back to church had lunch and 2hr. Of Personal time. We had church in the evening.

Oct 10 All the people from Malpaisillo came in again to eat breakfast, then we all went to Central park to get money exchanged, then went to tour the cathedral. That was really cool to see. We went up on the roof, and it was just amazing up there! I was having too much fun and forgot to get pictures, sorry, maybe next time! After that, we split into groups. Our group went material shopping, toured the market, went souveneir shopping, and out to eat.  We all met back at the trucks, then came to the church, quickly changed, and headed off to the beach. The waves were pretty big and it was kind of scary, but fun. We went back to the church, had supper, and played games, (any one want to play steal?😄) the rest of the evening 

Oct11 Kind of a lazy morning. We didn't do all that much, then went to the guys' house for supper and had chicken over the fire. It was really good! We just hung out, and Delmar played a few songs on the guitar.

Oct 12 The group left bright and early. (miss you all!)

Oct 13 Experienced my first earthquake! I was in bed, and Amber came over and told me to get out of my room. I wasn't sure what was going on! Then we went and watched the telephone poles outside our windows shake.. kind of a weird feeling. We can't get out very easily because there are too many doors and locks, so we weren't sure what to do. 😷 Later we found out it was a 7.4..eek!

Oct19 The youth were at our place for the evening. We hung out, played games, and ate food.☺

Oct 20 Out friend Yessenia's grandma passed away... it hadn't even been a month since her grandpa died! It was really hard for her and her cousins, because their grandparents  rasied them, and were like their parents.. Please pray for them!

Oct 25 We took a friend out for her birthday.

She has got to be one of the sweetest girls I know!

Oct 28 Helped to tear down our friend's house, because she wasnt getting along with a neighbor, and she moved just a couple houses down the road. It was a lot of fun, but I have never seen a house with soooo much junk, it was crazy! We found mice, scorpions, and a whole ant farm under a picture on her wall... I picked it up, and huge ants and all of their eggs fell out left and right!😜It took all day to tear the house apart. She even wanted the cement pillers taken out😄... Please pray for Luz and her daughter Tanya. 

Well that was my month of October! Sorry I got this out soo late. Thanks for all your prayers and support- it means a lot! Please continue to pray for the church down here.. We really need it. Don't forget to come visit! God bless! Genessa

Sept first month

Hey you all yea this blog thing has not been going very well... How did my first month go here? It was absolutely amazing! It flew by soo fast! Some highlights were visiting the children`s home, and visiting people.  We visit a lady named Luz who has a daughter that isn`t normal, and there is another elderly couple that we visit. They are as skinny as sticks, but are always praising God for everything. They had a really cute kitten, and they said they would give to us if we bought them some plastic for their roof. Then A few days later we got this adorable baby miniature poodle and named her Pepper. At first the two werent sure what they thought of each other. They still fight like cats and dogs but then the next min they are sleeping beside each other.😃The  first week was just getting settled in, then the next four weeks had school from 8 till 12 in the morning. I miss that, because I made a lot of friends on my half hour walk to school. My teacher loved showing me the different sights of the city down here. When giving directions, you go by the churches, so he took me to tour most of the Catholic churches in our area.  Some of them are absolutely beautiful! Then he would usually buy me a shaved ice or a popsicle. Also, he took me to the art museum. That was cool ...I went to my first vela, or wake... The second week I was down here, one of the girls that comes to church's grandpa died. He was kind of like a dad to her. That was a different experience. Everyone here spends like the whole night just sitting around outside... The third week here, I climbed my first volcano!  That was a lot of fun. I thought I was going to die on the first half, then it got a little easier.  It was sooo cloudy that we almost walked past the crater, but then when it cleared up, it was

absolutely amazing! We could see almost all of nicaragua from up there! One last highlight: Amber took me out to celebrate my last day of school! We went to a fancy resturant. It was really cool! The serving was huge, so we split the plate.

So that is basically what has happened since I've been down here. Please pray for the church here- it definitely could use it thank you all

hey WOW were do i start every thing soo far has been amazing so i got here like 10 mon night the flight paper work and every thing went gr8 sorry iam going 2 b jumping a head i dont have much time... so tues  we went to market kinda just looked around then we went and visited on of the young girls who is a church member here it is soooo anoyying though cause i didnt understand what hey were saying... then i we went to Richard Burkholders for supper i love there family already ...wen we got up late then went to visit a lady that amber know and she made an amazing breakfast for us soo good then we had a Bible study with her... then my favorite part so far is the children's home we played soccer with them loved it then  helped them with there home work it was soo madding i was trying to tell them how to do it and they didnt understand me ...then we went home and got ready to go to church in another town we rode on the back of the truck quite the ride :) any how i need to finish later sorry i dont have any pics yet

wow i cant believe it i am leaving tomorrow where has the time gone ...aaaaaa!!!!! i am sooooo excited:)
